CSSS silver celebration and a Sociology-CSSS alum highlighted in A&S Perspectives

Trey Causey, CSSS alumni and the Head of Responsible AI and Senior Director of Data Science at Indeed, was featured in the June 28th edition of the College of Arts & Sciences Perspectives Newsletter. The newsletter also spotlights the 25th anniversary of CSSS, which was celebrated with a two-day conference in May 2024.

The article discusses Causey’s role at Indeed and how he "works to ensure that the company’s AI algorithms promote equity and fairness and prevent biases in hiring." His background in sociology and data science from the University of Washington has been instrumental in preparing him for this role, allowing him to address complex sociological problems through advanced computational methods.
