Introducing a New CSSS PhD Track: Education Concentration in Statistics
The Center for Statistics and the Social Sciences (CSSS), in collaboration with the Educational Psychology Measurement and Statistics Program of the College of Education (COE), is excited to announce the establishment of a new CSSS PhD Track, the Education Concentration in Statistics. The goal of the Concentration is to provide Education graduate students with complementary quantitative skills for their graduate and post-graduate careers. The College of Education is the twelfth academic unit in the University of Washington to establish a CSSS track to support their students.
The complete description of the requirements of the Education Concentration in Statistics can be found here.
"Quantitative methods training has long been an important component of graduate programs in the College of Education. Over the years, CSSS graduate courses have made important contributions to that training. I am delighted that the COE and CSSS have formalized this relationship and created this new Education Concentration in Statistics that will allow COE graduate students to customize a training program relevant to their research. This concentration will be a real benefit to COE graduate students going forward,” says Associate Professor of Biological Anthropology and former Director of CSSS Darryl Holman.
