New director for CSSS

This summer brings a change of leadership to CSSS. Beginning July 1, Prof. Darryl Holman (Anthropology) will be the director of CSSS.

Prof. Holman has been deeply involved in CSSS since he arrived at the UW in 1999, the year CSSS was founded. He has served as a member of the CSSS executive committee (2002-2016), and chaired the CSSS graduate committee (2005-2016), assisting programs in developing many of the PhD tracks sponsored by CSSS. He has taught CS&SS 544 Event History Analysis for the Social Sciences annually since 2006. Prof. Kate Stovel (Sociology) steps down after three years as CSSS director to become chair of the Sociology Department.

We are grateful to Prof. Stovel for her careful stewardship of the Center which has thrived under her leadership. We wish her well in her new position.
