Modeling Legislative Speech in the US Senate

Dr. Quinn (Ph.D., 1999, Washington University in St. Louis) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at Harvard University. He received a fellowship from the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences in Palo Alto, CA for 2006-07. He received the 2006 Harold Gosnell Prize for best work in Political Methodology for "An Automated Method of Topic-Coding Legislative Speech Over Time with Application to the 105th-108th U. S. Senate." From 2000-2003, he was an Assistant Professor in Political Science, Adjunct Assistant Professor in Statistics and a core member of the Center for Statistics and Social Sciences at the University of Washington.
